While I understand the concerns regarding teams who are weak making it to rounds where supposedly stronger teams failed to qualify, I must also agree that Mona Prep in this year's competition was the team to beat. Additionally, it unwise to say that seeding the teams differently will yield a much different outcome as the compositon of the teams are different each year and those who are avid fans of this programme know that strong teams in this season may fail to even get past the second round next season. While I hold no favorites each year, I don't believe that the teams Mona Prep played earlier in the season had anything to do with them being champions. If by the same token, one is suggesting that Naggo Head faced stiffer competitors on route to the finals then such fiery trials should have equipped them with the requisit skills to have reversed the final scores. Also, in a knock-out competition when Team A defeats Team B who is then later defeated by Team C in more difficult level of the competition then it stands to reason that Team C is stronger than both Teams A and B. Congrats are in order for the champions Mona Prep! They won our hearts with the excellence, grace and the humility of their game play. Their captain was awe-inspiring and the editorial written in The Gleaner dated Dec. 7, 2012 by a viewer about her was a testimony of we all saw watching this season without personal biases. Big up TVJ on a well produced kids programme. I hope it continues for decades to come!
