Where can I get information if my favourite show gets pre-empted or simply goes off air?

TVJ tries to provide a range of regularly scheduled news, sports and entertainment programs to the public. We also broadcast specials, as well as breaking local and international news.

While we do our best to avoid pre-empting shows, our full programming schedule prevents us from guaranteeing if/when a program is re-aired. The best advice we can give you is to check your local listings and televisionjamaica.com whenever something unexpected pops up.

Why does TVJ change the time/day of shows?

Scheduling decisions are made after careful consideration and analysis.  Our goal is to match the right program with the most receptive audience.  Although we realize that not every decision will please everyone, we welcome comments from viewers because they help us understand how our programs are being received.
top

Why was my show cancelled?

Some of our favourite shows depart with a rousing series finale, others disappear without warning.

The challenge of a television station is to keep pace with constantly changing tastes of the viewing public. Should one of your favourite shows leave this world all too soon, we sure hope other programs on TVJ's schedule compensate with many hours of viewing pleasure.

What are TVJ's guidelines for unsolicited submissions of story ideas or concepts?

Unfortunately, TVJ and The RJR Communication Group’s policy does not allow the station to accept for review or consideration any ideas, suggestions, or creative materials not solicited by us or our subsidiaries. Our intention is to avoid misunderstandings when projects are created internally which might be similar to submissions made to us from outside the company.

What if I miss a show? Can I watch on-line or can I get VHS tapes, DVDs or electronic copies (via streaming or download) of TVJ sent to me?

TVJ does have an on-line place to go to see some free streaming episodes of some of your favourite shows go to televsionjamaica.com and click on the show of your choice

Television Jamaica does not directly send out VHS tapes, DVDs or electronic copies of any show, special or movie that currently airs, for these services please contact:

MultiMedia Jamaica
32 Lyndhurst Road
Kingston 10
Programs that have been recorded off the air cannot be sold or rented or forwarded to you via the internet without authorization from their copyright owners, so don't be fooled if someone offers to sell or rent you a copy they've made - it's an illegal transaction for which you can be arrested and charged.

I am having problems connecting to one of your pages. When I do, my system locks up. What's going on?

There are several possibilities:
A browser error may have occurred. If this is the case, close the browser, reopen it, and try again.
If other people can access the site, it may be a problem with your Web page cache. Clear your cache and then try reloading the site again. For instructions on how to clear your cache, see "How do I clear the cache on my browser?"

Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may have a problem with their servers. Try accessing other pages, and if the problem persists, contact your ISP.

Occasionally the server generating our pages goes down. Be patient. We have engineers on call at all times to resolve problems such as these.
